The Myanmar Company Law was signed into law on 6 December 2017, allowing foreign nationals to hold up to 35% of shares in local companies. The law stipulates that any such companies will be recognised as local companies under Myanmar law, while those with foreign ownership of more 35% will be classified as a foreign company.
